Trade.xyz Warns Users Off Links After GitBook Docs Incident
Trade.xyz restored its GitBook documentation after unauthorized activity but warned users to avoid links while it investigates. Its notice disclosed no fund theft.
Key Notes
- Trade.xyz reported unauthorized activity affecting its GitBook documentation and restored the pages.
- Users were told to avoid documentation links while the investigation continues.
- The original notice did not disclose stolen funds or explain how the incident occurred.
Trade.xyz has warned users to avoid links in its GitBook documentation after detecting unauthorized activity affecting the pages on November 2. The Hyperliquid-based market operator said it had restored the documentation, while keeping the precautionary warning in place during its investigation.
The company’s security notice puts the restoration at 9:15 a.m. Eastern Time, or 14:15 UTC. Its statement does not disclose stolen funds, identify an attacker or explain how the unauthorized access occurred.

Restored Pages Still Carry a Link Warning
Trade.xyz said it identified the activity earlier that morning and returned the documentation to its previous state. It nevertheless asked users not to click any links within the documentation while the review continues, and said it would provide further updates as appropriate.
The announcement leaves several questions open: which pages or links were affected, how long any changes remained accessible, and whether visitors interacted with altered content. It does not establish whether the cause was a compromised account, a publishing integration or another route into the documentation.
The scope of the warning is important. Unauthorized activity on documentation pages does not by itself establish that Hyperliquid’s blockchain, trade execution or transaction-signing systems were compromised. Equally, restoring a page is not a substitute for the investigation into what users may have encountered.
Documentation Is a Separate Security Exposure
Product documentation helps traders and developers understand a service and find related tools. A link on a familiar documentation site can therefore appear trustworthy even when users are not carrying out a trade on that page. Trade.xyz has not published a technical account showing whether that kind of redirection occurred here.
A separate incident covered in our Predict.fun report involved unauthorized wallet transfers and a preliminary suspicion that an API documentation site had been compromised. Those losses should not be attributed to trade.xyz: the two announcements concern different platforms, and no connection between them has been established.
A Warning for Users of Hyperliquid Markets
Trade.xyz operates round-the-clock perpetual markets on Hyperliquid, including contracts linked to stocks, indices and commodities. These are derivatives that track prices, rather than ownership of the underlying shares or physical assets.
CoinScreamer’s ICE partnership coverage examined its separate plans for a regulated U.S. market. That project remains subject to approvals and does not explain the cause of the documentation incident.
For users, the immediate instruction remains the one in trade.xyz’s notice: avoid links inside its documentation while the investigation is ongoing. The team has not provided a completion deadline or a detailed incident report in that statement.
