Key Notes

  • Predict.fun reports approximately 400,000 USDT in unauthorized transfers from users’ wallets.
  • A possible compromise of its third-party-hosted API documentation site remains under investigation.
  • The platform promises full reimbursement for incident-related losses but has not set a payment date.

Predict.fun says a small number of users suffered unauthorized transfers totaling approximately 400,000 USDT from their wallets. The BNB Chain prediction-market platform has promised to fully reimburse losses directly resulting from the incident.

In an October 27 statement, the company said its preliminary investigation points to a possible compromise of its API documentation website, which is hosted by a third-party provider. That explanation remains provisional.

Documentation Site Taken Offline

Predict.fun said it disabled the documentation site as a precaution and will keep it offline until its investigation is complete. The company believes the suspected compromise may have affected users during a short period, but has not published exact start and end times.

An API, or application programming interface, lets software interact with a service. Its documentation explains how developers can use it. The suspected entry point identified by Predict.fun is that supporting website; the announcement does not establish how access to it led to transfers from users’ wallets.

The statement gives an approximate aggregate loss and describes the affected group without putting a number on it. It does not identify the third-party hosting provider or provide transaction hashes, wallet addresses or a technical account of the unauthorized transfers.

Reimbursement Promised, Investigation Still Open

The platform’s commitment covers funds lost as a direct result of this incident. It has not announced a payment date, a claims process or confirmation that reimbursements have already been completed.

Predict.fun also promised a full post-mortem once the investigation concludes, covering what happened and measures intended to prevent a repeat. That report should provide more detail on the cause and the scope of exposure than the initial notice.

The platform’s website describes it as a BNB-native prediction market. CoinScreamer’s earlier launch coverage examined its integration with Binance Wallet. The current incident statement does not specify which wallet interfaces affected users had used.
