Crypto market intelligence firm Messari announced a leadership transition and workforce reduction as it shifts its strategy toward artificial intelligence. Chief Technology Officer Diran Li will assume the role of CEO following the departure of Eric Turner, who will remain with the company as an advisor.
Turner took over the role in 2024 after founder Ryan Selkis stepped down. In a statement on social media, Turner confirmed the leadership change and said the transition followed discussions with the company’s board. The change coincides with layoffs across the organization. Li said the company had parted ways with multiple employees as part of a broader restructuring, though the exact number of affected staff was not disclosed.
Messari said the changes are designed to reposition the firm as an AI-first platform delivering research and analytics products for institutional clients. The company is best known for its crypto market intelligence reports, data tools, and the annual Mainnet conference in New York.
