- Circle shares closed at $86.97 on October 15 after a gain of 9.33%, rather than following a new quarterly earnings release.
- Circle’s latest reported quarter showed USDC circulation growth alongside pressure from lower reserve yields.
- Third-quarter results are scheduled for November 4 as USDC gains additional payment uses.
Circle Internet Group shares rallied 9.33% on October 15, closing at $86.97 as the USDC issuer continues expanding its role in payments and financial infrastructure. The move brought CRCL close to a 10% daily gain, although it did not follow a newly released quarterly earnings report.
The company’s next results are scheduled for November 4. Its latest published financial report covers the second quarter and was released on August 5, making the distinction important when assessing the stock’s latest advance.
Historical prices show CRCL rose $7.42 from its October 14 close of $79.55. That followed a 5.60% decline in the preceding session. These are completed-session figures for October 15, rather than a live quote for October 16.
USDC Growth Meets Pressure on Reserve Yields
Circle’s second-quarter results showed USDC circulation of $73.3 billion at June 30, up 19% from a year earlier. Total revenue and reserve income reached $701 million, a 7% increase, while adjusted EBITDA rose 8% to $143 million.
Net income from continuing operations was $48 million. The large improvement from the prior-year loss mainly reflected the comparison with IPO-related stock compensation in 2025, rather than an equivalent jump in underlying commercial activity.
Reserve income remains central to the business. It rose 5% to $668 million as average USDC circulation increased, partly offset by a 66-basis-point decline in the reserve return rate. That illustrates why rising stablecoin supply does not automatically produce equally fast revenue growth: the yield earned on backing assets matters too.
Circle is also building payment services beyond reserve income. Its payments network reported $14.7 billion in annualized volume based on the final 30 days of the quarter, with 175 financial institutions enrolled. That is a run-rate measure, not revenue or a full year of completed transactions.
Payment Adoption Extends Beyond Crypto Trading
A more recent development came on October 15, when Visa announced that Visa Direct’s USDC prefunding capability had entered commercial production through Inyo Global. Eligible payment businesses can use the stablecoin to supply funds behind cross-border payouts in near real time.
Inyo’s wider network spans more than 180 countries, but availability of the stablecoin funding feature depends on eligibility and geography. As our Visa Direct coverage explains, funding a payout with USDC is separate from delivering USDC directly to a recipient’s wallet.
USDC’s European regulatory position is also changing. The EBA has classified it as the EU’s first significant e-money token under MiCA, with financial safeguards moving under EBA supervision from November 12 while France’s ACPR retains other responsibilities. Our supervision overview sets out that division.
November Results Will Provide the Next Financial Update
Circle has scheduled its third-quarter earnings webcast for November 4 at 8 a.m. Eastern Time. That report will provide the next opportunity to assess whether growing payment adoption is translating into stronger financial performance.
The latest stock rally and the expansion of USDC’s uses are measurable developments, but they answer different questions. The closing price shows what investors paid for Circle shares on October 15; payment integrations show where USDC is being used. Neither establishes the size of an unreported quarterly profit increase or a single confirmed cause for the share-price move.
