Key Notes
- Binance.US is seeking up to $100 million in private funding at about a $1 billion valuation, according to Bloomberg’s unnamed source.
- The reported targets concern the separate American exchange and remain prospective, rather than confirmed proceeds from a completed financing.
- The fundraising effort follows restored dollar services, new leadership and lower spot-trading fees as Binance.US rebuilds its US business.
Binance.US is seeking to raise as much as $100 million at a valuation of about $1 billion as it looks to expand its American cryptocurrency business, Bloomberg reported on October 15. The proposed private financing would support an exchange rebuilding its position in a competitive US market.
The valuation and fundraising target come from a person familiar with the matter who requested anonymity because the discussions are confidential, Bloomberg reported. They describe a prospective transaction, rather than a completed capital raise or a final valuation agreed by investors.
The American exchange operates separately from the global Binance platform. Its financing plans therefore concern the US business, rather than a $100 million raise by the international exchange or a valuation of the broader Binance group.
A Lower Target Than Its 2022 Funding Round
Binance.US announced its first external funding round in April 2022, raising more than $200 million at a disclosed $4.5 billion valuation. Participants included RRE Ventures, Foundation Capital, Original Capital, VanEck and Circle Ventures, among others.
The reported $1 billion target is substantially below that historical figure. The comparison nevertheless involves a completed 2022 transaction and a current fundraising ambition whose final terms have not been established.
A company valuation also measures something different from the capital it receives. The proposed $100 million represents the amount Binance.US hopes to raise; the roughly $1 billion figure describes the reported valuation sought for the company.
The disclosed information does not establish the ownership percentage investors would receive, their share-class rights or whether the valuation is calculated before or after new money. Those terms would be needed to assess the financing’s effect on existing shareholders.
Rebuilding a Separate American Exchange
Binance.US launched in September 2019 and is operated by BAM Trading Services in Miami, Florida. Its company profile says the platform uses matching-engine and wallet technology licensed from Binance, explaining the connection between the shared brand and its separate US operation.
The platform’s rebuilding effort has included restoring access to dollar transfers. In February 2025, Binance.US began restoring ACH deposits and withdrawals for eligible customers after operating as a crypto-only exchange from July 2023.
That was an operational milestone for customers who wanted to move dollars between their bank and exchange accounts. It is distinct from raising corporate capital: customer deposits fund users’ own accounts, while a private financing round provides capital to the business.
The company also changed its leadership this year. It appointed Stephen Gregory as chief executive effective March 9, with Norman Reed moving into an advisory role. Gregory previously led Currency.com’s US operation and held compliance roles at other digital-asset businesses.
Low Fees and Product Upgrades Shape the Growth Push
Binance.US has made pricing a visible part of its competitive strategy. An April 2026 fee announcement introduced 0% maker and 0.02% taker fees or lower on Advanced Spot Trading pairs, without a subscription or trading-volume requirement.
Those rates apply to the specified spot-trading service. The announcement distinguishes it from One Click Buy and Sell, so the headline fee should not be treated as a universal cost for every way customers transact on the platform.
CoinScreamer’s earlier rebuilding coverage examined how low fees and a broader product offering fit the exchange’s growth strategy. The new fundraising report adds a potential source of capital to that effort, without establishing which individual initiatives would receive the proceeds.
In its August community update, Binance.US said it had added Apple Pay, Google Pay and card funding, redesigned market discovery and expanded price alerts. It also described passkey login and fixes to bank-account linking.
The same update placed its self-custody Web3 Wallet in an early preview for selected users. That dated description should be kept separate from a claim that the wallet was already universally available, or that the reported financing has a dedicated allocation to it.
Capital Alone Does Not Establish Nationwide Access
Binance.US’s availability list still distinguishes supported locations from unsupported states and crypto-only service areas. Its published list includes New York and Texas among unsupported states, with Kansas and Wisconsin listed as crypto-only.
Consequently, expanding the business and serving every US resident are separate objectives. A funding round does not itself change which services the exchange can offer in a particular state.
Competition also extends beyond specialist exchanges. Interactive Brokers introduced ETH staking for eligible clients of its US brokerage entity this week, illustrating how established financial platforms are adding cryptocurrency features alongside their wider investment services.
For Binance.US, the next substantive milestone would be a signed and closed financing with disclosed terms. Until then, the $100 million raise and approximately $1 billion valuation remain reported targets, while the exchange’s public announcements provide the clearer record of products and operational changes already delivered.
