Key Notes
- Chainlink and LG CNS are collaborating on Korean stablecoin and digital-asset infrastructure.
- The collaboration builds on KITL, which LG CNS introduced earlier this month with five technology partners.
- The announcement does not identify a new stablecoin launch or confirm Chainlink integration into Project Hangang.
Chainlink and LG CNS are expanding their collaboration on infrastructure for Korean stablecoins and tokenized assets. The strategic partnership combines Chainlink’s data and cross-chain services with the LG Group technology affiliate’s work for financial institutions.
The October 22 announcement identifies stablecoin distribution, institutional solutions and technical standards as priorities. It builds on the relationship LG CNS disclosed when it launched its KITL blockchain platform earlier this month.

Connecting Tokens to Institutional Systems
The proposed work addresses a practical problem for financial firms: issuing a token does not automatically connect it to banking systems, external data or assets on another blockchain. Those connections are needed for institutions to build services around tokenized money.
Chainlink’s technical overview describes oracles as infrastructure that supplies blockchains with information and access to systems outside their own networks. A smart contract can use that connection to receive market data or coordinate a workflow involving an existing financial system.
Cross-chain interoperability serves a separate purpose: communicating instructions and transferring value between blockchain networks. Chainlink’s CCIP supports messaging and token transfers across public and private chains. These capabilities explain the role of connectivity in an institutional platform, rather than establishing that every possible route is already available through LG CNS.
The companies also plan to collaborate on oracle and interoperability standards for Korean institutions. The agreement concerns the technology supporting regulated financial activity; it is not itself a regulatory rule or an approval to issue a particular asset.
KITL Provides the Earlier Foundation
LG CNS’s KITL release already listed Chainlink alongside Circle, Securitize, Canton Foundation and Chainalysis as partners under separate memorandums of understanding. CoinScreamer’s earlier report covered those agreements and the platform’s launch.
KITL is designed for banks, securities companies, card issuers and payment providers. Its four core functions are digital wallets, transaction processing, gas-fee sponsorship and collection of transaction records. LG CNS says the same infrastructure can support different digital assets and blockchain networks.
The record-collection function illustrates the work behind a consumer-facing service. Issuers can use relevant blockchain records to reconcile tokens with reserves, while distributors need records for settlement, accounting and audits. Wallets and transaction processing provide other parts of that operating infrastructure.
Central Bank Experience Is Separate From This Deal
LG CNS also brings experience from Project Hangang, the Bank of Korea’s digital-currency initiative. The company says KITL extends wallet technology used in that project from private blockchains to public networks.
The central bank’s account describes a first-phase live trial involving seven commercial banks, about 80,000 users and around 12,000 merchants. Its model combines central-bank money with tokenized bank deposits. Those participants were testing that system, rather than holding a new stablecoin issued under the Chainlink partnership.
The latest announcement does not identify a new stablecoin issuer, launch date or financial terms. Nor does it confirm that Chainlink has been selected for Project Hangang itself. The next evidence of commercial adoption would be specific institutional deployments and products built using the combined infrastructure.
