Travala Adds AVA Buyback Multiplier Tied to Travel Rewards

Travala’s tiered AVA buybacks can reach 3× member rewards, taking combined repurchases with the AVA Foundation to 4× at the highest threshold.

Key Notes

  • Travala’s AVA purchases can rise from 1× to 3× the tokens distributed as member rewards.
  • Combined buybacks can reach 4× rewards when the monthly rewards value reaches $250,000.
  • Travala’s purchases enter its reserve while the Foundation’s purchases replenish rewards.

Travala has introduced a tiered AVA buyback program that can lift combined monthly repurchases by the travel platform and the AVA Foundation to four times the AVA rewards earned by members.

The new multiplier increases Travala’s contribution as monthly rewards rise. Its purchases can reach three times the AVA distributed through the Smart loyalty program, alongside the Foundation’s separate one-for-one repurchase of those rewards.

Travala says the tokens it buys will enter its AVA Strategic Reserve, a multisignature wallet from which the company has committed never to sell or transfer tokens. The Foundation’s purchases instead replenish the rewards pool.

How the Buyback Multiplier Works

The dollar value of members’ AVA givebacks in one month determines the multiplier used for the next monthly buyback. Givebacks are the loyalty rewards members receive on eligible travel bookings, rather than Travala’s total revenue or booking volume.

Monthly AVA Rewards Travala Match Combined Buybacks
Below $100,000 1× 2× rewards
$100,000 to below $150,000 1.5× 2.5× rewards
$150,000 to below $200,000 2× 3× rewards
$200,000 to below $250,000 2.5× 3.5× rewards
$250,000 or more 3× 4× rewards

For example, if members earn $120,000 worth of AVA rewards in a month, the Foundation repurchases the quantity of AVA distributed and Travala buys another 1.5 times that token amount. Together, the purchases equal 2.5 times the rewarded AVA.

The multiplier can move down as well as up. Lower rewards in a subsequent month reduce the applicable match, while rewards above $250,000 do not raise Travala’s multiple beyond three. The announcement does not say that the maximum tier has already been reached.

The Reserve Is Separate From the Rewards Pool

The structure builds on the September program, when Travala began matching the Foundation’s reward-replenishment purchases. Previously, the two contributions together amounted to twice members’ rewards.

In the latest announcement, Travala puts the Foundation’s cumulative repurchases at 5,423,181 AVA and its own reserve holdings at 598,458.78 AVA after two matching rounds. These are company-reported figures covering different purchase histories, rather than two estimates of the same balance.

Travala says reserve holdings are excluded from AVA’s official circulating supply. Its never-sell commitment is distinct from burning tokens: the announcement describes a multisignature reserve, not destruction of AVA or an independently verified, irreversible smart-contract lock.

Travel Activity Determines Future Purchases

The company plans to publish both buyback amounts, the applied multiplier and transaction links in monthly reports. That reporting will show which tier actually applies as the program operates.

CoinScreamer previously covered Travala’s AI booking protocol. The latest change concerns how the platform’s loyalty activity feeds into AVA repurchases, rather than a new travel-payment method.

Travala retains the right to modify, suspend or discontinue the multiplier and future purchases. Its existing commitment not to sell or transfer AVA already in the reserve remains in place. The mechanism does not guarantee a particular token price or investment return.
