Bridge Building, the Luxembourg-based entity behind Stripe-owned stablecoin platform Bridge, has officially entered the European Union’s Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA) register. The addition follows regulatory approval from Luxembourg’s Commission de Surveillance du Secteur Financier (CSSF), which granted Bridge an Electronic Money Institution (EMI) license alongside a Crypto-Asset Service Provider (CASP) authorization.
According to the latest update published by the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA), Bridge’s entry raises the total number of MiCA-authorized electronic money token (EMT) issuers in the official EU registry to 42. Mai Leduc Blount, Head of Product at Bridge, highlighted that these regulatory milestones enable European businesses to build compliant stablecoin and payment solutions on a fully regulated foundation.
The revised ESMA register also added three new German CASP entries, Volksbank Die Gestalterbank, VBU Volksbank im Unterland, and VR-Bank Erding, bringing the overall number of authorized CASPs across the EU to 324. The update reflected no changes regarding asset-referenced token (ART) issuers or the list of non-compliant crypto entities.
This integration underscores ESMA’s accelerating schedule of registry updates as the MiCA framework matures. By securing its Luxembourg approvals, Bridge strengthens Stripe’s capability to deliver enterprise-grade, compliant stablecoin payment infrastructure throughout the European Single Market.
