The European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) has added 12 companies to its Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) register, marking its fourth update since the transitional grandfathering deadline passed on July 1.

Published on July 31, the update brings the total number of authorized crypto-asset service providers (CASPs) in the European Union to 321. The latest batch of approved entities highlights growing mainstream banking involvement, featuring three German cooperative banks: Volksbank Raiffeisenbank Oberbayern Südost, VR Bank Schleswig-Holstein Mitte, and VR-Bank Landau-Mengkofen. The update also granted authorization to two Spanish firms, Basque Pay and Fintech Payments, and four French companies, including Finary, Woorton, Blockchain Process Security, and Shares Financial Assets.

Concurrently, ESMA expanded its non-compliant entities register by adding three firms flagged by Italy’s regulator, Commissione Nazionale per le Società e la Borsa (CONSOB): Cervo Rendisco, Flandenzo, and Corona Fondenza. With these additions, the non-compliant register now lists 167 unauthorized entities operating across the bloc.

Other MiCA-related lists remained unchanged in this cycle. The register for authorized e-money token (EMT) issuers holds steady at 41, while no asset-referenced token (ART) issuers are currently listed.

The continued expansion of the CASP register demonstrates how traditional financial institutions and crypto-native firms are solidifying their regulatory status within the EU’s unified compliance framework following the expiration of legacy national registrations.
