A longtime Ethereum holder lost 59 ETH, valued at approximately $146,800, after switching to a new wallet, Lookonchain reported on October 10. The analytics firm linked the loss to a drainer associated with the CryptoBilis and Ledger theft reports.
According to Lookonchain, the investor’s old wallet had remained safe for eight years and had been inactive for more than four years. The owner moved to a new wallet about a month ago, before its entire 59 ETH balance was stolen.
The account adds an individual loss to the wider theft investigation previously covered by CoinScreamer. Lookonchain published an Arkham address link alongside its report, but the post does not establish the technical attack method or demonstrate a vulnerability affecting every Ledger device.
Ledger’s October 9 customer warning said it was investigating losses reported by Southeast Asian buyers who purchased through CryptoBilis. As CoinScreamer previously reported, the company asked the reseller to pause Ledger sales and shipments while the investigation proceeds.
The notice advised customers who bought from CryptoBilis within the past 90 days not to initialize unused devices. Those who had already completed setup were told to consider moving assets to a new Ledger signer with a new recovery seed.
