StandX Announces Shutdown and Cancels Token Launch
StandX will close remaining positions on January 15 and end withdrawals on January 31, 2027, replacing its token plans with a one-time DUSD airdrop.
Key Notes
- StandX has canceled its token launch and will close remaining trading positions at mark prices on January 15, 2027.
- DUSD airdrop claims run from November 1 to December 31, with allocations funded by remaining revenue and additional team contributions.
- Regular withdrawals and new redemption requests end January 31, while timely redemptions settle by February 7 and remaining balances stay owned by users.
Decentralized derivatives exchange StandX will wind down operations and abandon its planned token launch, setting January 15, 2027, for the closure of remaining trading positions and January 31 for the end of regular withdrawals and DUSD redemption requests.
The team announced the decision on October 15 after a review of its business and market conditions. It said the platform had served more than 237,000 users since its November 2025 mainnet launch, with total value locked peaking above $200 million.
Instead of issuing a platform token, StandX plans a one-time DUSD distribution funded by its remaining project revenue and additional team contributions. The airdrop has its own claim deadline, separate from the later trading and withdrawal cutoffs.
StandX outlines its DUSD community airdrop and phased operational wind-down.
The Wind-Down Starts With Yield and Deposit Changes
The transition begins immediately, although trading is scheduled to continue normally until October 20. StandX’s plan separates the end of yield payments, restrictions on new activity, the settlement of positions and the final regular exit window.
- October 15, 2026: All yield payments end, including DUSD yield, position yield, community maker yield and referral commissions. New vault creation and vault deposits also close.
- October 20, 2026: Perpetual markets switch to reduce-only trading. Users can reduce or close positions, but cannot open or increase them. New registrations and DUSD minting stop; deposits remain available only for margin top-ups.
- January 15, 2027: StandX will cancel outstanding orders, close every remaining position at its mark price and settle vaults. Deposits will close.
- January 31, 2027: Regular withdrawals from Perps Wallet and Cash Wallet end, along with new DUSD redemption requests. StandX will remove its DUSD liquidity from PancakeSwap and Raydium.
Reduce-only trading gives existing users a period to manage exposure before the compulsory settlement date. The January closure will use the mark price at that time, rather than preserving a position’s entry price or guaranteeing a particular outcome.
The restrictions also cover new block trades and block options from October 20. Previously reserved block options remain executable until expiry, according to the announcement.
DUSD Airdrop Claims Close Before the Platform Exit
Eligibility checking is scheduled to open at 00:00 UTC on October 26. Claims will run from 00:00 UTC on November 1 until 08:00 UTC on December 31, 2026. Allocations not claimed within that window will be forfeited.
StandX says users will receive the full assigned DUSD amount without a lockup and can transfer, trade or redeem it after claiming. Participants must use the BNB Chain or Solana wallet address they used on StandX.
Allocations will reflect activities including pre-deposits, Alpha participation, mainnet trading, market making and referrals. The team will screen for duplicate or manipulated participation and wash trading, retaining the right to reduce or cancel allocations for abnormal accounts.
The announcement does not disclose the distribution’s total dollar value or a fixed payment for every participant. The earlier $200 million figure describes peak TVL, not the airdrop budget or the amount currently available for distribution.
StandX directs participants to its official website for claims and says it will not request private keys, recovery phrases or an advance payment to receive an airdrop.
January 31 Is a Request Deadline, Not the Final Settlement Day
Withdrawing DUSD from the platform and converting it into another stablecoin are different steps. StandX instructs users to move assets from their Perps Wallet to their Cash Wallet, then withdraw to an onchain address. Those withdrawals arrive as DUSD.
Its redemption documentation describes a separate process for returning DUSD in exchange for supported base assets. The standard seven-day processing period allows the protocol to unwind associated hedging positions and manage collateral.
The shutdown notice says requests submitted by January 31, 2027, will complete by February 7 under that process. February 7 is consequently a completion date for timely requests, rather than an extra week in which users can begin new redemptions.
StandX also makes a distinction between unclaimed rewards and remaining account assets. After January 31, platform balances will still belong to their respective wallet owners, but recovery will require contacting the project’s support team. The announcement does not say those balances will be forfeited at the regular withdrawal cutoff.
A Short-Lived Margin-Yield Model
StandX’s documentation describes a perpetuals venue on BNB Chain and Solana built around DUSD as trading collateral. The model combined derivatives activity with yield on margin, allowing users to earn while maintaining positions. The October 15 notice ends those yield programs as the platform exits.
The team says it experienced no fund-security incidents and that DUSD remains fully collateralized. Those are StandX’s statements about its operating history and backing; the shutdown decision itself was attributed to its business and market review.
The exit follows other closures covered by CoinScreamer, including Abstract’s shutdown and Blast’s wind-down. Those concern blockchain networks with different withdrawal arrangements. StandX users need to follow the exchange’s own airdrop, position-settlement and redemption dates.
