Key Notes

  • Ripple introduced 24/7 Returns for eligible corporate customers with qualifying digital assets, including RLUSD, in a Ripple wallet.
  • Companies can choose manual, semi-autonomous or fully autonomous settings for individual treasury workflows.
  • Digital assets remain optional across the broader platform, and Ripple has not disclosed a return rate for the new program.

Ripple has introduced round-the-clock corporate cash-management capabilities, pairing AI-powered treasury automation with a new returns program for qualifying digital assets, including its dollar-backed RLUSD stablecoin.

The October 26 announcement expands Ripple Treasury, connecting financial decisions with payments and liquidity management beyond traditional banking hours.

Putting Idle Cash to Work After Hours

The new feature, 24/7 Returns, is intended for eligible corporate customers with qualifying assets held in a Ripple wallet. It targets balances otherwise idle overnight, on weekends or during holidays, without requiring the business to manage the underlying digital-asset transactions itself.

Ripple has not disclosed a return rate or the detailed investment mechanism. Participation is subject to program requirements; the announcement does not establish a guaranteed return for every RLUSD holder.

Companies Choose How Much the AI Can Do

Ripple’s product page describes a coordinating layer that connects GSmart, its treasury AI, with the company’s financial policies. It brings cash forecasts, account reconciliation and funding decisions into the same operating process.

Customers select an approval setting for each workflow. In manual mode, an agent prepares an action and waits for permission. Semi-autonomous mode allows execution within agreed limits with real-time notification. Fully autonomous mode can run the workflow from start to finish.

Those choices can differ within the same treasury: an overnight cash sweep could run automatically while a foreign-exchange hedge still needs approval. Ripple says policy checks apply across the settings, actions are traced and unfamiliar situations return to a person.

The distinction is between software preparing a recommendation and software being authorized to move funds. The product’s controls are company-described capabilities, rather than an independent assessment of every deployment.

Digital Assets Remain Optional

Businesses can retain their banking arrangements and choose conventional or digital payment infrastructure for each task. The broader treasury platform does not require every workflow to use cryptocurrency.

One example on the product page follows a projected funding gap before Monday: the system identifies the shortfall, proposes a policy-linked transfer, obtains approval where required, executes and records the steps.

That illustrates the operational change Ripple is pursuing. A current cash balance is useful information; making an approved funding decision and carrying it out after hours is an additional capability.

Building on an Existing Treasury Business

CoinScreamer’s April treasury report covered Ripple’s addition of digital-asset accounts and a dashboard combining conventional and crypto balances. The latest announcement extends that direction into continuous workflows and a separately qualified returns program.

It also sits alongside Ripple’s expansion in institutional finance. Our custody coverage examined Standard Chartered’s RLUSD safekeeping service and its separate, planned LMAX collateral link. Token custody, trading collateral and corporate cash management serve different purposes, even when the same stablecoin appears in each.
