President Donald Trump is expected to highlight efforts to disrupt overseas cryptocurrency investment scams at a White House event on October 21. Reuters reported, citing a White House official, that the appearance will form part of a broader discussion about preventing cybercrime.

Trump and cabinet members are expected to discuss the seizure of fraudulent crypto investment websites and measures against online impersonation scams. The focus described by the official is on foreign criminal networks that target Americans with fake investment opportunities.

The official told Reuters that FBI Director Kash Patel, Attorney General Todd Blanche, Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth are expected to attend. The report previews the event rather than documenting remarks already delivered.

The appearance follows Trump’s March 6 executive order, which directed federal agencies to develop a plan against foreign cybercrime networks and prioritize fraud prosecutions. It also requested recommendations for returning recovered funds to victims, subject to legal limits.

CoinScreamer previously covered a separate operation in which the FBI and Brooklyn prosecutors disrupted 241 scam domains and 112 servers. That case illustrates the distinction between disabling fraud infrastructure and recovering victims’ money; a website takedown does not itself establish full reimbursement.
