Ethereum could surpass $5,000 by the end of 2026, according to Fundstrat co-founder and BitMine chairman Tom Lee. He outlined the forecast in an Ondo Finance interview released October 8 and recorded during TOKEN2049 in Singapore.
Lee also linked a stronger Ethereum outcome to Bitcoin’s performance. If BTC reaches $100,000, he expects ETH to trade around $7,500. That figure is a conditional scenario tied to a broader crypto rally, rather than a separate guaranteed year-end outcome.
Over the full market cycle, Lee sees potential for ETH to reach $25,000–$50,000, without assigning that range a year-end deadline. His argument centers on Ethereum’s role in settlement and tokenization, with institutions building blockchain products that could bring larger pools of capital on-chain.
The timing differs from his earlier forecast that Ethereum could trade well above $10,000 within 12 months. In that September interview, Lee was uncertain about reaching $10,000 before year-end. The two statements therefore cover different horizons and do not establish a formal target cut.
Lee’s bullish view accompanies BitMine’s substantial Ethereum treasury exposure. CoinScreamer previously covered its supply cap strategy, under which purchases would stop at 5% of ETH supply. His forecasts reflect an investment thesis from the chairman of a major ETH holder.
