The Solana Foundation has appointed former Binance Chief Marketing Officer Rachel Conlan as Chief Strategy Officer and former Polygon Labs executive Jamal Raees as General Manager of Payments.
Conlan will oversee institutional partnerships, ecosystem expansion, and corporate integration. She previously held senior roles at OKX, CAA Sports, and Havas. Raees will focus on deepening relationships with major payment companies, expanding adoption for stablecoins, and advancing tokenized deposits globally.
The executive appointments follow several infrastructure integrations. In March, the foundation launched the Solana Developer Platform alongside payments partner Modern Treasury, with Mastercard and Western Union named as early participants. Additionally, Amazon Web Services added Solana support for its x402 feature, enabling website owners to charge AI agents in USDC.
The network is also preparing for its Alpenglow upgrade, which aims to reduce transaction finality from roughly 12.8 seconds to 150 milliseconds. So far in 2026, Solana has processed over $5 trillion in stablecoin volume, alongside housing over $4.5 billion in real-world assets and $620 million in tokenized equities.
