BlackRock has partnered with Ondo Finance to bring institutional asset allocation strategies on-chain through the launch of Ondo Intelligent Portfolios. The product category introduces single, transferable tokens that track multi-asset portfolio strategies designed by BlackRock.
BlackRock Tokenizes Model Portfolios via Ondo Infrastructure
The initiative features three bespoke model portfolios designed by BlackRock: High Income (BLKHIon), Diversified Growth (BLKDIGon), and High Growth (BLKGRWon). The tokenized baskets combine exposure to equities, fixed income, and Bitcoin ETFs depending on the specific mandate.
Issued through Ondo Global Markets and tokenized by Ondo Finance, each token enables eligible non-US investors in permitted jurisdictions to access diversified allocations without individually purchasing, weighting, or rebalancing underlying assets. Self-executing smart contracts handle automated portfolio rebalancing on-chain, maintaining underlying constituent target weights transparently.
The deployment follows BlackRock’s expanding digital asset footprint, which includes its institutional tokenized money market fund, BUIDL. The new portfolio tokens are transferable peer-to-peer and compatible with supported non-custodial wallets, decentralized exchanges, and decentralized finance (DeFi) protocols.
The product expansion follows Ondo Finance’s recent integration with Near Protocol to issue tokenized stocks and ETFs, such as Tesla, Nvidia, Apple, and QQQ, directly on-chain.
ONDO Token Rallies Double Digits Amid Broader Market Volatility
Following the announcement, Ondo’s native utility token (ONDO) surged more than 16% to trade near $0.48, outperforming the broader digital asset market as Bitcoin pulled back toward $83,000. The token has gained over 37% over the past week, driven by renewed institutional interest and regulatory catalysts surrounding real-world asset (RWA) tokenization venues.
The product rollout occurs alongside internal changes within the protocol. Following the unexpected passing of Ondo Finance founder Nathan Allman in May 2026, former President Ian De Bode assumed the Chief Executive role to oversee protocol operations and enterprise partnerships. While recent legal filings involving Allman’s estate and company equity remain ongoing, Ondo has maintained its development trajectory, pushing total value locked across its tokenized stock and yield products past $1 billion.
