Key Notes

  • US spot Bitcoin ETFs attracted $175.62 million on October 13, led by Fidelity’s FBTC with $103.06 million.
  • Ether ETFs added $24.84 million, with Grayscale’s ETH and Fidelity’s FETH ending ten consecutive sessions of net withdrawals.
  • Combined inflows reached $200.46 million, while both fund groups remained in net outflow for October through the latest completed session.

US spot Bitcoin and Ether exchange-traded funds attracted a combined $200.46 million in net inflows on October 13, reversing the previous session’s withdrawals as money returned to a handful of products from Fidelity, BlackRock, Morgan Stanley and Grayscale.

Bitcoin ETFs brought in $175.62 million, according to SoSoValue’s Bitcoin data. The provider’s Ether tracker recorded another $24.84 million, ending ten consecutive trading sessions of net withdrawals for that group.

The improvement offers a welcome change after a difficult start to October. However, both fund groups remained in negative territory for the month through Tuesday, so the latest figures show a recovery in daily demand rather than an established reversal in the broader flow trend.

Fidelity leads Bitcoin’s return to inflows

Fidelity’s FBTC accounted for $103.06 million of Bitcoin ETF inflows, making it the largest contributor. BlackRock’s IBIT followed with $65.89 million, while Morgan Stanley’s MSBT added $6.67 million.

Those three funds accounted for the entire positive total in SoSoValue’s October 13 breakdown. The other nine Bitcoin products tracked by the provider recorded zero net flows, including Grayscale’s GBTC and BTC, Bitwise’s BITB and the ARK 21Shares fund, ARKB.

A zero net-flow reading does not mean a fund’s shares stopped trading. It indicates no net capital movement into or out of the product for the session in the provider’s data. Investors can still buy and sell existing ETF shares on an exchange without generating an equivalent net inflow.

The Bitcoin group had lost $65.40 million on Monday, October 12. Tuesday’s result therefore more than offset that single session’s withdrawals, although the recent pattern remains mixed: the funds also attracted $21.13 million on Friday, October 9.

US spot ETF group October 13 net flow October 12 net flow
Bitcoin +$175.62 million −$65.40 million
Ether +$24.84 million −$85.40 million
Combined +$200.46 million −$150.80 million

Ether funds break a ten-session losing streak

Grayscale’s ETH fund led the Ether group with $16.73 million in net inflows. Fidelity’s FETH attracted $8.11 million, while the other nine tracked products, including BlackRock’s ETHA and Grayscale’s ETHE, reported zero net flows.

The two positive funds together delivered the group’s $24.84 million total. That followed an $85.40 million withdrawal on October 12 and marked the first positive session since September 28, based on SoSoValue’s historical series.

Across the ten intervening sessions, Ether ETFs had shed approximately $782.58 million. Tuesday’s subscriptions recovered only a small part of that amount, underscoring the difference between breaking an outflow streak and recovering the capital lost during it.

The provider reported total net assets of $15.83 billion across the Ether products and $106.98 billion for the Bitcoin group as of October 13. These asset totals are separate from daily flows: their dollar value also changes as the underlying cryptocurrencies move in price.

October’s balance is still negative

CoinScreamer’s calculation from SoSoValue’s daily figures puts Bitcoin ETF net withdrawals at $278.38 million for October through October 13. Ether funds remained down $695.35 million over the same period, leaving the two groups with a combined monthly net outflow of $973.73 million.

Those figures put Tuesday’s rebound in the context of the October withdrawals covered earlier by CoinScreamer. The positive day reduced the accumulated deficit, but did not erase it.

The shift also relates to Wintermute’s outlook, which identified returning spot ETF inflows and stable long-term US Treasury yields as conditions for a broader crypto recovery. One positive session addresses part of that picture; it does not establish that either condition will persist.

The next completed sessions will show whether buying spreads beyond Tuesday’s five contributing funds and whether cumulative flows continue to improve. The October 13 data alone does not identify the ultimate buyers, distinguish all retail demand from institutional allocations, or establish a direct cause for movements in Bitcoin and Ether prices.
