Theta, validated by Google, Samsung, and Sony, to add cryptographic proof layer for enterprise AI deployments with XYO, two of the oldest DePIN projects.
SAN FRANCISCO and SAN DIEGO, CA - May 28, 2026 (NUVEX WIRE) - Two of DePIN’s earliest projects. Theta’s AI agent platform partners with XYO’s Layer 1 to develop a cryptographic proof infrastructure that will independently verify AI agent workloads executed on Theta EdgeCloud.
Theta’s AI agent platform helped major sports and entertainment organisations, including Olympique de Marseille, the Houston Rockets, and partners across the MLS, NBA, NHL, and Ligue 1 to produce tailored customer service AI agents.
Stanford University research found Organizational adoption of AI has reached 88% in 2025, 23% of these companies are now scaling agentic AI systems capable of executing multi-step workflows autonomously. When enterprises deploy AI agents in production, they have no independent way to verify the underlying infrastructure performed as programmed. XYO nodes will monitor Theta’s EdgeCloud measuring uptime, speed and throughput, then record these unalterable measurements to the XYO Layer One blockchain.
Markus Levin, co-founder of XYO said: “Enterprises don’t deploy infrastructure on good faith. They require auditable records, defensible performance data, and clear accountability chains. This collaboration gives organizations running AI agents on EdgeCloud independently verified, tamper-evident attestations settled on XYO Layer One. For compliance teams, procurement leads, and anyone responsible for infrastructure decisions, that’s non-negotiable. That’s the standard that agentic AI deployments now need to meet.”
Decentralized compute networks have competed on price and availability, what it hasn’t offered is independent proof of performance. But they are neither they nor the centralized clouds have independent verification of infrastructure performance that enterprise compliance teams require. By anchoring attestations on XYO Layer One, EdgeCloud becomes the first decentralized compute platform to give enterprise customers auditable evidence of how their infrastructure actually performed.”
Distributed compute networks have shown that GPU resources can be orchestrated across thousands of nodes, shared across customers, and rewarded through native incentive layers. Verification is what’s been missing.
XYO will generate independent attestations for AI agent workloads running on EdgeCloud by focusing on measurable quality-of-service (QoS) metrics. Through direct sampling, interacting with EdgeCloud to observe performance, XYO will produce cryptographically backed records with XYO Layer One and XYO Data Lakes of key indicators such as uptime, latency, and throughput. Most enterprises running AI agents in production have contractual guarantees from their infrastructure providers but no independent evidence of whether those guarantees were met.
Both companies are among the earliest projects in the decentralized physical infrastructure (DePIN) category. Theta launched its edge network in 2019 and now operates one of the largest distributed and decentralized GPU compute networks in production. Launched in 2018, XYO has spent close to a decade developing cryptographic proof infrastructure for real-world data verification, originally across geospatial and device attestation and now extending into compute.
Mitch Liu, CEO of Theta Labs said: “As our AI agents handle thousands of fan interactions across the NBA, NHL, MLS and beyond, independent verification of infrastructure performance is becoming a baseline expectation. XYO brings exactly that to EdgeCloud. A third-party attestation layer that gives our customers, and their fans, confidence that every interaction is backed by infrastructure performing as promised.”
XYO is the cryptographic proof layer for the real world, turning events, data, and actions into tamper-evident records that any system, enterprise, or end-user can independently verify. At the core is XYO Layer One ($XL1), a data blockchain for cryptographic attestations at scale, paired with XYO Data Lakes for verifiable on- and off-chain storage. With the XYO Developer Toolkit and AI SDK, developers and vibecoders alike can embed cryptographic proof into any application, agent, or workflow in minutes. Since 2018, XYO has been building the proof infrastructure powering geospatial, robotics, AI, and decentralized compute, with one of the largest consumer DePIN networks in production.
