ZetaChain’s Proposal 68 has secured 99.4% community support ahead of its Sept. 20 deadline, paving the way to migrate its native ZETA token to Solana and permanently shut down its Cosmos-based Layer 1 blockchain.

With voter participation reaching 58%, comfortably surpassing the 40% quorum requirement, the governance vote grants core contributors authorization to plan the full network transition. Just 0.3% voted against the proposal, while 0.3% abstained.

Under the transition framework, ZETA will become a native Solana SPL token via a 1:1 conversion without expanding the total supply or altering existing vesting schedules. A primary technical adjustment involves reducing token precision from 18 decimals down to nine, rounding down fractional amounts below the new threshold. ZetaChain chose a full migration over a wrapped asset model, noting that cross-chain bridges depend on maintaining the underlying Layer 1, which will eventually halt operations.

Passing Proposal 68 acts as a directional mandate rather than an immediate execution. Current staking, validation, and L1 operations remain active until a second governance vote (Proposal 2) establishes the official snapshot block height, exchange swap timelines, and final network halt schedule.

Alongside the token, ZetaChain is shifting its focus to private AI by moving Anuma, its privacy-focused multi-model AI application, to Solana. Anuma brings over 300,000 active users and utilizes ZETA as a utility token for AI service credits. ZetaChain cited Solana’s sub-second finality, lower transaction costs, and reduced upstream maintenance burdens compared to Cosmos SDK infrastructure as primary drivers behind the transition.
