Cryptocurrency exchange Kraken has announced that retail investors globally can participate in the upcoming initial public offering (IPO) of US sandwich chain Jersey Mike’s. Under the dual-access initiative, eligible US customers can register interest in direct book-entry shares at the official IPO price, while international investors in more than 110 countries can request JMKEx, a tokenized share backed 1:1 by underlying equities held in regulated custody.

Jersey Mike’s, which operates over 3,300 locations nationwide, expects to price its Class A common stock between $21 and $25 per share for listing on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker JMKE.

Final share distributions remain subject to underwriting determination. Following the offering’s close, JMKEx will trade 24/5 on Kraken and partner venues within the xStocks Alliance, while the underlying stock adheres to standard NYSE trading hours. The tokenized equities can also be moved on-chain and integrated into compatible decentralized finance protocols.

Navigating Demand and Market Trends

The Jersey Mike’s rollout marks the latest IPO offering on Kraken’s xStocks framework following SpaceX’s public market debut in June. During the SpaceX listing, several competing crypto exchanges canceled their tokenized share campaigns after massive institutional oversubscription left platforms competing for limited underlying allocations.

Despite allocation bottlenecks during high-profile public debuts, demand for real-world asset tokenization continues to accelerate.

Industry data shows the total value of distributed tokenized equities rising from under $500 million in mid-2025 to roughly $1.87 billion, reflecting sustained institutional momentum behind on-chain public equities.
