Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong says his team is helping respond to the Binance hack, including blocking transfers to compromised wallets. In an October 30 post, he said Coinbase had also contacted Binance directly to offer assistance.

Armstrong urged cryptocurrency companies to share useful information and put customer protection first, regardless of which platform people use. His appeal called for cooperation across competing exchanges as the industry responds to the theft.

He also expressed confidence that crypto would recover from the setback, pointing to its resilience through earlier difficult periods. Binance founder Changpeng Zhao replied with a brief message of thanks.

The offer follows Binance’s coverage pledge after the exchange estimated the incident’s impact at about $6.3 billion. Binance said it would cover losses using its SAFU emergency fund and company funds, while investigators continued tracing the attack.

Armstrong did not identify the compromised addresses, disclose how much Coinbase had intercepted or say that stolen assets had been recovered. Blocking sends is a transfer-screening measure on Coinbase’s platform; the statement did not announce a broader freeze of blockchain transactions or a reimbursement arrangement between the exchanges.
