Crypto.com has partnered with KG Inicis, South Korea’s largest payment gateway and value-added network provider, to expand the use of digital assets in everyday retail transactions. The collaboration will integrate Crypto.com Pay into the KG Inicis merchant network, enabling crypto-based payments across a wide range of local businesses.

The initiative primarily targets foreign tourists visiting South Korea. Travelers will be able to pay for goods and services using digital assets, while merchants can choose to receive settlements in either fiat currency or crypto. KG Inicis processes more than 400 million transactions annually and holds roughly 40% of the domestic payment gateway market. By connecting Crypto.com Pay to this infrastructure, the companies aim to bridge digital assets with traditional commerce systems.

The partnership reflects a broader push across South Korea’s financial sector to explore digital asset integration. Major institutions have recently announced collaborations focused on staking products, blockchain infrastructure, and stablecoin development.
