Trezor has officially rolled out a native yield feature for USDC and USDT on Ethereum directly within the Trezor Suite environment. Powered by the decentralized lending protocol Morpho, the integration eliminates the need for users to connect to third-party wallets, install browser extensions, or navigate external dApps. To simplify the process for users without DeFi expertise, Trezor has pre-selected two vaults at launch, USDC Prime and USDT Prime, both curated by the independent yield strategy firm Steakhouse.
Hardware-Grade Security and Control
The new feature prioritizes user safety by ensuring private keys remain completely offline on the hardware device. Every deposit, withdrawal, and reward claim is executed via clear-signing on the Trezor device, translating smart contract code into human-readable text before the user approves the transaction.
The yield is generated from actual borrowing demand on Morpho. As a result, returns dynamically reflect real market rates. Furthermore, depositors maintain absolute control over their assets with no lockup periods or exit queues. Users hold standard ERC-20 vault tokens, enabling instant on-chain withdrawals directly through the Suite.
Bridging DeFi and Cold Storage
According to Trezor CTO Tomáš Sušánka, this integration removes the traditional trade-off between cold storage security and DeFi yield access.
He stated:
“Users have had to choose between the security of their hardware wallet and access to DeFi yield, because getting yield meant connecting to something else. We have brought yield into the Suite environment, with every step signed on the device and translated into plain language before the user approves it. The same security people already trust now covers their stablecoin position.”
Morpho CEO Paul Frambot echoed this sentiment, noting that bringing yield to over two million Trezor users without requiring them to learn new interfaces is a critical step in scaling decentralized finance.
The stablecoin yield feature is available now for users who update to Trezor Suite version 26.5.2.
