Hard Cap

A hard cap is the maximum amount of funds a cryptocurrency project aims to raise during a token sale or fundraising event. Once this limit is reached, no additional contributions are accepted. Hard caps are set to control token supply, prevent overfunding, and maintain scarcity. They provide transparency and assurance to investors about the total token issuance and fundraising goals. Hard caps are commonly used in ICOs, IDOs, and IEOs.
