Japanese Logistics Giant Adopts JPYC Stablecoin for Driver Payouts

Corporate digital settlement is taking root in Japan’s transportation sector. A major logistics provider is deploying yen stablecoins to eliminate transfer fees and streamline payments for independent drivers.

Major Japanese logistics firm AZ-COM Maruwa Holdings is planning to adopt JPYC, a yen-denominated stablecoin, to settle fees and compensation with approximately 2,300 business partners. The roll-out targets individual transportation contractors and truck drivers, representing Japan’s first large-scale corporate implementation of a domestic stablecoin for payroll and partner clearing.

By shifting away from legacy banking rails, AZ-COM Maruwa aims to deliver faster, higher-frequency compensation without incurring traditional bank transfer fees. To cement the integration, the firm, which counts Amazon Japan among its primary corporate clients, is negotiating a strategic partnership that includes a capital investment of over ¥1 billion ($6.2 million) directly into JPYC Inc.

Noritaka Okabe, founder and CEO of JPYC Inc., affirmed that the deal advances the convergence of commercial logistics and digital payment infrastructure. The move signals a broader shift as Japanese corporations leverage regulated digital yen assets to optimize operational liquidity and streamline complex B2B supply chain payouts.
