Fox to Integrate Kalshi Prediction Market Data Across News Networks

Fox Corporation will integrate Kalshi’s prediction market data into its news networks, with sports coverage potentially added later.

Fox Corporation announced a partnership with prediction market platform Kalshi to integrate real-time data into its news and digital networks. The deal will bring Kalshi data to Fox News, Fox Business Network, Fox Weather, and Fox One, enhancing reporting on political, economic, weather, and cultural events. Fox Sports was not included in the initial rollout, though Kalshi indicated that sports integration may be considered in the future.

Kalshi, which recently raised over $1 billion at a $22 billion valuation, is federally regulated under the Commodity Exchange Act, allowing it to operate beyond state restrictions. However, the platform faces legal challenges in several states related to sports and entertainment contracts.

In New Jersey, a federal appeals court ruled that the state does not have explicit authority over sports-related contracts offered by entities regulated by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, marking a notable victory for Kalshi. Meanwhile, a Nevada judge issued a preliminary injunction preventing the platform from offering sports, entertainment, and election-related contracts in the state without a gaming license.

The partnership will involve collaboration between Kalshi and Fox’s production teams to seamlessly incorporate real-time data into broadcasts. Kalshi’s platform is primarily used to understand odds and outcomes rather than for active trading on events like elections or sports, and the data will provide viewers with a clearer picture of probabilities behind major stories.
